Apologetic Djokovic organises 'Meet and Greet' for 20,000 fans

After catching coronavirus at the ill-conceived Adria Tour, world number 1 Novak Djokovic took to Twitter to assure fans he has learned his lesson.

The Serbian, winner of 17 slam titles, played a major role in organising the Adria Tour circuit, a series of exhibition events in a number of countries in the Balkan Peninsula of Eastern Europe.

In spite of the coronavirus pandemic and most professional sporting events being played behind closed doors, the first two events in Serbia and Croatia were played with full crowds and no social distancing measures in place. Players shook hands, hugged, played basketball and apparently partied together until the Tour was cancelled after Grigor Dimitrov revealed he had caught the virus.

To the surprise of nobody, a further slew of positive coronavirus tests followed, including Borna Coric, Viktor Troicki, and now Novak Djokovic himself, as well as his wife, Jelena. The 32-year-old profusely apologised after he was diagnosed at any harm he might have caused, and now a humbled, reflective Novak wishes to make amends the only way he knows how.
