Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr took time out of his busy Christmas Day schedule to visit a local soup kitchen in his hometown of Grand Rapids and show the less fortunate his brand new Rolls Royce, it has emerged.
The recently retired boxing legend uses much of his free time spending the hundreds of millions he made during his illustrious career on lavishly expensive things like watches and cars, then posting about them on social media.
But despite his enormous fortune, 'Money' has managed to stay grounded and remember his humble beginnings in his hometown of Grand Rapids, where he frequently attends fundraisers and events for the homeless and less fortunate to show them all how well he is doing.
Christmas Day was no exception either; before Mayweather had even eaten his own Christmas dinner, he pulled up to the headquarters of local non-profit organisation God's Kitchen in his brand new Rolls Royce and posed for a few photographs just in front of a group of people lining up to get some much needed hot food.
Ever eager to entertain the people, he even hopped back in the luxurious Rolls Royce Cullinan and revved the engine a little before letting a couple of lucky people look through the window at the car's beautiful interior.
Speaking to local reporters, the 50-0 fighter said:
"You know, I like to give back to the community. It's easy to forget where you come from and to forget the little people, so I come by here every once in a while and give those less fortunate than me a little taste of the good life they'll never have.
"Do I help handing out food? No, Floyd 'Money' Mayweather doesn't dish out soup unless Floyd 'Money' Mayweather's getting paid eight or nine figures for it. Instead I show these poor, pathetic souls how rich they could be. All it takes is a little hard work, dedication, an immense wealth of talent and natural ability, excellent marketing skills and a great team of support around you.
"To me, that's much, much better than giving them some soup or bread or a cup of cocoa. When else are they going to see Floyd 'Money' Mayweather or a brand new, half a million dollar Rolls Royce? Probably never. I know what I'd prefer if I wasn't the richest athlete on the planet."
